Rodney Smith

Hey, I’m Rodney Smith.  I’m an easy-going wedding photographer in the mountain town of Crossnore, North Carolina, but I shoot weddings all over.

I live in a house on the side of a hill in the Appalachian Mountains.

Some of my favorite things are working outside in the spring and fall and the Lord of the Rings movies. When I’m not shooting weddings you’ll find me sitting on my front porch swing with my chocolate lab/English hound mix, Ebbie, who is almost completely black and strong as a horse.

I couldn’t live without my faith in Jesus, my friends and family and good food. I spend a lot of time on Apple Music finding good music, and nothing makes me happier than being with family.

My love of people is what made me want to be a wedding photographer. I’ve been a photographer for 20+ years and it’s awesome (but just recently established a business). The best thing about being a wedding photographer is that I get to meet new people and eat cake.

My couples value beautiful photography and quality wedding albums, and the last thing they want is a photographer who is unfriendly and bosses them around.

My wedding photography style is relaxed, natural and joyful. I capture the romantic and funny moments and let you focus on having  an awesome and memorable day. My favorite parts of a wedding day are the down-time moments, because they provide a chance for you to have a breather and for me to be creative.

Your wedding is all about having a wonderful time with your favorite people. You want to worry about the little things that don’t matter – you just want to celebrate your wedding day with the people you love and who love you.
